Country Lead Guitar Study 1. This is the first of a series of Country Lead Guitar Studies. The series explores the concept of soloing from chord shapes. Country Lead Guitar Study 1 centers around the E shaped barre chord at the 10th fret. The intervals of the chord are discussed and then a riff is assigned to each interval. The riffs in this study are examples. The student is encouraged to develop each riff or use one of their own. In other words, put their own signature on each riff. Essentially, this study is a way of developing your style.
All of the various lead guitar studies from the Jim Sutton Institute of Guitar are interrelated. One study is useful to the next in helping create a cohesive picture.
This is a Supplementary Lesson, level 6. It includes 13 pages and CD/cassette. ($17.50)

Applicable scale patterns are discussed. A country boogie solo is charted and the solo techniques are analyzed. There is continuity between this study and the other guitar studies offered by the Jim Sutton Institute of Guitar.
