| Studies are laid out in a clear, step-by-step, easy to follow program. If a student does hit a trouble spot, answers and help are only a phone call away. An instructor is available to answer questions and help direct the student through a personalized curriculum. |
| Music is a subject that can be studied and enjoyed by students of all ages. Youngsters to senior citizens can enjoy and benefit from the rewards that playing the guitar can offer. Clinical studies have proven that playing a musical instrument can enhance personal development and general awareness. |
| Although youngsters and even toddlers can learn the basics, the Moving Toward Great Guitar Playing Course is designed for a more mature student. The course requires self discipline and self motivation. Fortunately, playing guitar is one subject most students do not have to be encouraged to study. They already have the desire and the enthusiasm. |
| Students will need to have access to a guitar in good working order. It is best if the guitar has new strings. Old strings are dull and sometimes will not tune up. We recommend that beginning students consider acquiring an electronic tuner. If you do not own a guitar at this time, the Jim Sutton Institute of Guitar does have a pamphlet titled How to Buy a Guitar. (See the Secure OnlineEnrollment/Ordering/Browse Catalog.) Students will also need a three ring binder specifically designated for their guitar studies. Course studies are sent with holes pre-punched so that students can keep their studies together and in order. |
| It is easy to enroll. There is a student questionnaire, which will help you evaluate at which level you should begin your home school studies. After you have completed the questionnaire, if you would still like some help selecting studies and a starting level, feel free to call. |
